EVA Air compensation guide
The airline name alone does not determine your rights. Route, operating carrier and disruption details matter.
Quick answer
Could your flight qualify?
You may have compensation or other passenger rights after a qualifying EVA Air delay, cancellation, involuntary denied boarding or disrupted connection. EC261, UK261, APPR and CAAT 101 can become relevant, depending on the exact route, operator and circumstances. Neither a ticket label nor a destination alone establishes eligibility.

Passenger rights
Which passenger rights could apply?
EVA Air operates services involving Amsterdam, Paris, Vienna, Milan, Munich and London, as well as Toronto, Vancouver and Thailand. Some routes operate via intermediate points; check each flight segment. Protected European and UK departure rules depend on direction; Canada and Thailand require their own route and disruption checks. Travaro checks the operating airline, direction of travel, booking and disruption before assessing the applicable framework.
European Union / EEA
EC261
€250–€600 in qualifying cases
Qualifying departures from EU or other airports covered by EC261 may be protected, even on a non-EU operating airline. Arrival into the EU alone does not automatically protect a flight beginning outside it on a non-EU carrier. For EVA Air, check that the affected flight was actually operated by BR and met the local conditions.

UK261
£220–£520 in qualifying cases
Qualifying departures from United Kingdom airports can be protected by UK261. For a non-UK/non-EU carrier, arrival in the UK from a third country by itself does not establish coverage. For EVA Air, check that the affected flight was actually operated by BR and met the local conditions.

APPR
APPR rights on qualifying Canada routes
Canada’s Air Passenger Protection Regulations can apply to qualifying flights to, from and within Canada, subject to the carrier category, disruption conditions and specific remedy. For EVA Air, check that the affected flight was actually operated by BR and met the local conditions.

CAAT 101
THB 1,500–4,500 in qualifying cases
Qualifying scheduled departures from Thailand can be assessed under CAAT Regulation No. 101. The delay, cancellation or denied-boarding conditions, distance and other safeguards must be met. For EVA Air, check that the affected flight was actually operated by BR and met the local conditions.

What happened to your EVA Air flight?
Delayed flight
A significant arrival delay may qualify depending on the route, applicable passenger-rights rules and cause of the disruption.
Cancelled flight
Cancellation rights can depend on notice timing, the reason for cancellation and any alternative journey offered.
Denied boarding
Involuntary denied boarding can create compensation, alternative travel, refund and care rights in qualifying circumstances.
Missed connection
A connecting journey booked as one itinerary may qualify when a disruption causes you to reach your final destination significantly late.
Important conditions
What can affect your eligibility?
EVA Air does not have one worldwide compensation rule. Each affected flight is assessed under the framework applicable to its actual operator, route, disruption and circumstances.
Protected European departures can fall under EC261
Qualifying EVA Air-operated flights can be assessed under EC261 where the relevant departure or itinerary and regulatory conditions apply.
UK departures can fall under UK261
Qualifying EVA Air-operated flights can be assessed under UK261 where the relevant departure or itinerary and regulatory conditions apply.
Canada journeys can fall under APPR
Qualifying EVA Air-operated flights can be assessed under Canada's APPR where the relevant departure or itinerary and regulatory conditions apply.
Scheduled Thailand departures may be protected by CAAT 101
Qualifying EVA Air-operated flights can be assessed under Thailand's CAAT Regulation No. 101 where the relevant departure or itinerary and regulatory conditions apply.
The operating carrier is decisive
EVA Air BR is different from UNI Air B7 and from flights operated by codeshare partners. A BR-marketed journey is not proof that BR operated every leg.
Disruption cause and notice matter
A delay, cancellation or involuntary denied boarding does not automatically qualify. The reason, notice timing and available replacement travel may change the rights assessed.
Connecting journeys need a booking check
The full itinerary, single-booking structure, affected operating sector and arrival at the final destination can change the assessment.
What to keep
Keep a clear record of the journey
Keep records that confirm the complete EVA Air itinerary, which carrier operated each sector and what happened.
Your EVA Air booking confirmation and all travel dates.
The complete flight number, including the BR designator where relevant.
Boarding passes or tickets for each affected leg.
Any “Operated by” information identifying a different airline.
Emails, SMS or app notices about the disruption.
Any stated reason for the disruption and changes to the timetable.
Replacement-flight, rerouting or refund correspondence.
Actual arrival time at the final destination where available.
Receipts for reasonable disruption-related expenses where relevant.
