Common questions

Airline compensation FAQs

Does compensation depend on which airline I flew?

The airline can matter, but the airline name alone does not determine your rights. Route, direction of travel, operating carrier, disruption type and the applicable passenger-rights rules all need to be considered.

What is the operating carrier?

The operating carrier is the airline that actually operates the flight. This can differ from the airline whose flight number appears on your booking, particularly on codeshare journeys.

Can more than one set of passenger-rights rules apply?

Yes. A journey can potentially fall under more than one set of passenger-rights rules. For example, a flight involving Canada may fall under APPR while departure from another country or region can also make other passenger-rights rules relevant.

What if my airline is not listed here?

You can still check your journey. Travaro assesses the route, operating airline and disruption details rather than requiring your airline to have a dedicated public guide.

What if my journey includes more than one airline?

You may still have passenger rights. On connecting or codeshare journeys, the airline that actually operated the disrupted flight can be important, as can whether the flights were booked as one journey. Travaro checks the operating carrier, route and disruption details when assessing which rights may apply.

How much does Travaro charge?

Checking eligibility is free. If compensation is recovered, Travaro charges a 30% success fee including VAT. There is no upfront service fee.
