The airline name alone does not determine your rights. Route, operating carrier and disruption details matter.

Quick answer

Could your flight qualify?

You may be entitled to compensation for an eligible flynas delay, cancellation, involuntary denied boarding or disrupted connection. GACA applies to qualifying flynas journeys involving Saudi Arabia, while EC261 or SHY-YOLCU can also become relevant depending on where the journey begins.

Passenger rights

Which passenger rights could apply?

flynas is a Saudi carrier, but the applicable passenger-rights framework still depends on the route and direction of travel. GACA is central to its Saudi network, while flynas departures from protected European Union or Türkiye airports can bring other passenger-rights rules into scope.

Important conditions

What can affect your eligibility?

The flynas name alone does not determine your entitlement. Travaro checks where the journey started, the operating carrier, the disruption circumstances and your final arrival impact before determining which passenger-rights rules may apply.

Saudi departures fall under GACA

Flights departing from Saudi airports fall within GACA's passenger-rights framework whether the journey is domestic or international.

flynas arrivals can also fall under GACA

Because flynas is a Saudi national carrier, GACA can also apply to flynas-operated arrivals into Saudi Arabia unless the passenger has already been compensated under the regulations of the country of departure.

Final arrival delay matters

For qualifying delay and connected-journey cases, the impact at the final destination can be more important than the delay of one individual flight segment.

EU departures can bring EC261 into scope

When flynas operates a flight departing from a covered European Union airport, EC261 can apply even though flynas itself is not an EU carrier.

Türkiye departures can bring SHY-YOLCU into scope

flynas departures from Turkish airports can fall within Türkiye's passenger-rights framework where the applicable conditions are satisfied.

Cancellation notice can change the result

Your rights can depend on when flynas told you about the cancellation, the replacement journey offered and whether you choose to continue travelling or terminate the journey.

The operating carrier matters

Codeshare or connecting journeys may contain flights operated by another airline. The carrier that actually operated the affected flight can change which passenger-rights rules apply.

The cause of disruption remains important

Weather, air-traffic restrictions, operational issues, technical problems and other causes are not necessarily treated the same way under passenger-rights rules.

India journeys are assessed under DGCA rules

Qualifying departures and arrivals involving India, and domestic flights within India, require a DGCA assessment. Delay assistance is different from capped cancellation or denied-boarding compensation; the operating airline, advance notice and alternative travel matter.
