Jet2 compensation guide
The airline name alone does not determine your rights. Route, operating carrier and disruption details matter.
Quick answer
Could your flight qualify?
You may be entitled to compensation for an eligible Jet2 delay, cancellation, involuntary denied boarding or disrupted connection. UK261 is central to many Jet2 journeys, while EC261 can apply to qualifying departures from EU airports and SHY-YOLCU can apply to qualifying departures from Türkiye.

Passenger rights
Which passenger rights could apply?
Jet2 is a UK airline, but its European and Türkiye network means the applicable passenger-rights framework can change with the direction of travel. A return journey does not necessarily fall under the same rules in both directions.
United Kingdom
UK261
£220–£520 in qualifying cases
Jet2 flights departing from UK airports can fall under UK261. Qualifying Jet2-operated flights arriving into the UK can also be covered because Jet2 is a UK carrier.

EC261
€250–€600 in qualifying cases
A Jet2 flight departing from an EU airport can fall under EC261 regardless of Jet2's UK carrier status. A Jet2-operated arrival into the EU from outside the EU is generally not covered by EC261 solely on the basis of arrival because Jet2 is not an EU carrier.

SHY-YOLCU
TRY equivalent of €100–€600
Qualifying Jet2 departures from airports in Türkiye can fall under SHY-YOLCU. Route, disruption type, cause and final arrival impact determine the applicable passenger rights.

What happened to your Jet2 flight?
Delayed flight
A significant arrival delay may qualify depending on the route, applicable passenger-rights rules and cause of the disruption.
Cancelled flight
Cancellation rights can depend on notice timing, the reason for cancellation and any alternative journey offered.
Denied boarding
Involuntary denied boarding can create compensation, alternative travel, refund and care rights in qualifying circumstances.
Missed connection
A connecting journey booked as one itinerary may qualify when a disruption causes you to reach your final destination significantly late.
Important conditions
What can affect your eligibility?
Jet2's UK base makes UK261 especially important, but direction of travel still matters. Travaro checks the operating carrier, departure and arrival airports, disruption and final arrival impact before applying the relevant passenger-rights framework.
LS normally means Jet2.com Limited
Jet2 identifies LS as its airline code and states that Jet2.com Limited normally operates its flights. If another airline actually operates the flight, that carrier should also be considered when passenger-rights coverage is assessed.
UK departures can fall under UK261
Qualifying Jet2 flights departing from airports in the United Kingdom can fall under UK261 regardless of the destination.
Jet2 arrivals into the UK can also qualify
Because Jet2 is a UK carrier, qualifying Jet2-operated journeys arriving into the United Kingdom can also come within UK261 depending on the route and other regulatory conditions.
EU departures can fall under EC261
A Jet2 flight departing from an EU airport can fall under EC261 even though Jet2 is a UK carrier. This makes the return direction of many UK-European journeys legally different from the outbound direction.
Türkiye departures can fall under SHY-YOLCU
Jet2 serves Turkish airports including Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman and Izmir. Qualifying departures from Türkiye can therefore bring SHY-YOLCU passenger-rights rules into scope.
Final arrival delay matters
For qualifying delay and connecting-journey claims, compensation can depend on how late you ultimately reach the final destination rather than only the departure delay.
Cancellation timing matters
Cancellation compensation can depend on when you were informed and whether suitable alternative transport was offered within the applicable regulatory limits.
Extraordinary circumstances can affect compensation
Weather, air-traffic restrictions, airport closures and certain other events outside the airline's control can affect fixed compensation even where rerouting, refund or care rights remain.
What to keep
Keep a clear record of the journey
Keep enough information to establish your Jet2 itinerary, the actual operating carrier, what caused the disruption and when you ultimately reached your destination.
Your Jet2 booking confirmation and complete itinerary.
The affected LS flight number.
Boarding passes or other proof of travel.
The actual operating carrier if different from Jet2.com Limited.
Delay, cancellation or denied-boarding notices.
Any explanation Jet2 provided for the disruption.
The time you were informed of a cancellation.
Replacement-flight or rerouting information.
Your actual arrival time at the final destination.
Documents showing whether multiple flights formed one booking.
Itemised receipts for reasonable disruption expenses where relevant.
