The airline name alone does not determine your rights. Route, operating carrier and disruption details matter.

Quick answer

Could your flight qualify?

You may have compensation or other rights after a qualifying SpiceJet disruption. India DGCA applies to relevant India journeys; other frameworks depend on the actual operating airline, departure airport, route and circumstances. India flight delays do not automatically create a separate fixed cash claim.

Passenger rights

Which passenger rights could apply?

Domestic India flights and selected international services. SpiceJet’s international destination marketing includes older routes. Do not assume that a route to Thailand, Saudi Arabia or Oman is currently SG-operated without checking the dated operating schedule. Travaro checks which airline physically operated the affected sector before assessing the applicable market rules.

Important conditions

What can affect your eligibility?

No single worldwide compensation rule applies to every SpiceJet flight. The operating airline, date, route, disruption circumstances and any alternative travel determine which passenger protections apply.

India DGCA on qualifying routes

India’s DGCA passenger-rights rules can apply to qualifying flights within, to or from India, including flights operated by foreign airlines. Delay may create assistance rights without a standalone fixed cash award; some cancellations, involuntary denied boarding and qualifying missed connections have separate conditions and statutory fare-based limits. The actual operating carrier, dates and disruption facts must be checked.

Operating airline, not ticket brand

SpiceJet (SG) must actually operate the affected sector. Codeshares, marketing flight numbers and other group airlines do not establish SG-operated services.

Schedule and cause matter

SpiceJet’s international destination marketing includes older routes. Do not assume that a route to Thailand, Saudi Arabia or Oman is currently SG-operated without checking the dated operating schedule.
